The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is the fastest and most effortless way to reach Table Mountain’s summit – in only 5 minutes, you will be able to explore all the Table Mountain has to offer while also taking in the spectacular 306˚ views on the journey and also from the top. The trip is fun, exciting, and safe for people of all ages.
The cableway was opened to the public in 1929 and it has undergone 3 major renovations and upgrades since. By February 2016, the cableway welcomed its 25 millionth visitor, and today, it is a highly recommended tourist attraction.
Each cable car can transport about 65 passengers at once. The floors of the cable cars have been designed to rotate whilst travelling up and down the mountain, thereby giving its passengers a panoramic view of their surrounds. The summer months, from November to February, are the best times to plan this trip.
